The study of Wen Xuan reached peak period in Jiaqing and Daoguang reign. For the existence of the imperfection of Li Shan’s annotation, the study of Wen Xuan developed under the influences of political, culture and the academic atmasphere of Qianjia Textural Research,and showed the characteristics of textological, which was the main feature different from Kangqian period and the late Qing period. Shcolors were good at exegetical study. Wang Xu’s The Supplement to the Li Shan’s Annotation of Wen Xuan emphasis on tracing the origin of words and sentences of Wen Xuan, correcting the quotations of Li Shan’s annotation. Zhu Jian’s Wen Xuan Ji Shi epitomized the opinions of supplements and it’s mainly about illustrating the things and geography of Wen Xuan. Xu Panfeng’s Xuan Zhu Gui Li has it’s own value. But it’s unworthy of the name because of it’s drawback. Zhang Yun’ao’s Xuan Xue Jiao Yan is a knowledgeable and talented work, which became the standard supplement to Li Shan’s annotation. Liang Zhangju’s Wen Xuan Pang Zheng concentrate on using the method of adminiculating.These books went step by step, from single to complicated. Based on the respect of Li Shan,these works make up the imperfection of Li Shan’s annotation, break the blind faith in Li Shan,scout the flash point of Wu Chen’s annotation. And they also provide abundant materials of exegesis. Their value should not be underestimated.
