“self and other” was the score of Bakhtin’s dialogue criticism research, in the study of the original philosophy and aesthetics, Bakhtin believed “self for itself” ”other for self” ”self for other” were the most important building elements of the world of the behavior. The unity of these three elements was the philosophy of“self and other” that stressed interactive communication between the self and other. I communicated with other by the specific responsibility and duty to make both of us become a better one. Bakhtin studied the communication between the author and the hero in the art world, because he thought the art world was closer to the world of behavior. In this part, he came up with two concepts “Extraposition” and“Hyperstereoscopy” and established the communicative principle between the “self and other”. Then he put forward the concept “Dialogue” in the literal study of Dostoevsky’s novels, which was divided into two parts ”polyphony” and ”speech”. In this part, he explained the way to communicate between the “self and other”.Then he found the carnival in the folk culture when tracing the origin of Dostoyevsky’s polyphonic novels. In this part, he found the polyphonic novels followed by the carnival. In the end, he confirmed the best state of human existence that was the communication among people in the carnival. Bakhtin’s dialogue criticism study was not constrained by the restrictions through multidisciplinary crossover study, he established the ideal human existence form of “self and other”,which provided a good rescue plan for indifference among people in the modern instrumental world. However, it also became the utopia only in the spiritual world because of the lack of material base.
