Woodcut derives from China. Knowing the history of different national woodcuts is the way to understand the Chinese woodcut Comparing politics,religion in the same period of different nationalities, we can understand the origin and development of Chinese woodcut better, and how traditional woodcut painting in contemporary woodcut printmaking reflects. Tibetan woodcut and Han Chinese woodblock prints, although they have something similar, the distinction still exsits. So far, the earliest woodblock prints was found in the Tang Dynasty, this paper mainly compared them from the Tang Dynasty,and both of them have experienced from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty germination, development, maturation process also gradually from "traditional copy of the print" to now "creative woodblock prints", but due to their different nationalities, different beliefs, the experience of political culture, created two completely different style of woodcut art. Therefore, to study the Tibetan and Chinese woodcut, is conducive to promoting the development of China woodcut and communication between cultures.In modern times, some scholars have studied the Tibetan woodcut prints or Han woodcut prints, but the two system contrasts was sporadic. in order of clear the show Tibetan and Chinese woodblock prints of the origin and development of contemporary Tibetan Chinese woodblock prints of the status quo, This paper is on the basis of previous research, trying to compared from the background, categories, artistic value of the three blocks.This paper is divided into three parts, overview, the discussion, the text, and the conclusion. The text is divided into three chapters。The first chapter, from three aspects of politics, religion, analysis and comparison. Comparative analysis of Tibetan and Han nationality in the from the development status of the political status, the history of the fine arts and in the theme of woodblock prints of religion.The second chapter, analyzing and comparing the Tibetan-Chinese woodcut category. For the traditional woodcut printmaking and creation of modern woodcut prints Tibetan woodcut branch of; Han woodcut divided into black and white woodcut, coloured woodcut, wood engraving.In the third chapter, the art value is analyzed and compared. Material materials, techniques, art market, the three pieces of comparison.
