Traditional woodblock illustration is the most important part of Chinese traditional print art and an indispensable part of Chinese traditional art form.And in the way of expression,it is bound to be limited by the materials and processes in the production of wood plates.Therefore,the art of woodcut illustrations in the process of continuous progress is to break through the attachment of illustrations in books to the text in order to increase the importance of illustrations in books.At the same time,it is necessary to break through the backward printing technology to solve the suppression caused by poor production ability in the creative process to continuously improve the aesthetic quality and modeling ability.As a metaphysical art category,its development must also be influenced by political,economic and cultural factors in various periods.This article took the Wanli era as the base,and the images and painting languages presented in various periods as the object of study,and began vertical and horizontal research.,To explore the reasons for the rapid development of traditional woodblock illustrations at this time and the artistic language characteristics of woodblock illustrations in a brilliant period.From the time of the production of woodcut illustration art,the industry has been making efforts to complete two breakthroughs.Therefore,in various periods,different but generally improved style features and picture effects have been formed.Of particular importance is the level of technological sophistication that has evolved from generation to generation.The experience gained from these advances and explorations is the historical accumulation of the rapid development of wood illustration art.The strong support of the Ming government in culture has caused cultural prosperity,and the wooden version of the illustrator art has also been able to build on the experience of the previous generation.The huge consumer market is a shot in the arm for book trade and illustration production.The combination of these elements has shaped the rich language form and extremely high aesthetic value of woodcut illustrations in the Ming Dynasty.
