The Compiling Of Explanations And Reannotations Of Zhou Wen In Shuo Wen Jie Zi

Based on 206 character patterns of Zhouwen listed in Shuo Wen Jie Zi, This thesis finds out similarities and differences, analyzes by textual annotation and then obtains the personal idea by referring to philologists’ specific annotations on Zhouwen in Annotation on History of Zhouwen,Annotation on Sixth Book in Shuo Wen Jie Zi, Annotation on Examination of Ancient Characters, Explanation on Chinese Bronze Inscription,Dictionary of Jin Wen,The Added Explanation on Yin Xu Texts, Supplement of Explaining Ancient Zhouwen, Annotation on Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty, The Investigation to Ancient Chinese Characters in Shuo Wen Jie Zi, Kezhai Record,Explanative Set of Oracle, Third Supplement of Explaining Zhouwen, Qi Gu Shi Ji Document of Jinwen,Added Supplement of Explaining Ancient Zhouwen,,Outline on Qiwen,Shuo Wen Shi Li,Ji Wei Ju Xiao Xue Shu Lin, Buci Tongzuan. Through researching on character patterns and categorizing according to three relations variant characters, loan characters and synonymic interchange listed in A Supplementary study of relation between Chong Wen and Seal Character composed by Huang Tianshu, the thesis draws the following conclusion. 1. Loan characters of Zhouwen are 6; 2. Variant characters of Zhouwen are 198; 3.Unkown of Zhouwen are 2;4. There is no phenomenon of synonymic interchange between seal character and Zhouwen.In brief, Zhouwen serves as a kind of copy of ancient Chinese characters. It is capable of contrasting with oracle bone, Chinese bronze inscription and Warring states characters, which is extremely beneficial to probing into characters and corresponding developing processes.
