Study On Sichuan Anti-church Movement In Late Qing Dynasty: Distribution And Causes

The great majority of Anti-C hurch Movement happened in the late Q ing dynasty was in Sichuan province. According to the writers’ statistics, there was totally 203 cases. Compared with other provinces, Sichuan has multiple Anti-C hurch Movement with specific causes. In the isolated areas with poor transportation led to unmanageable by the central government. And with the sturdy people in Sichuan which has more bandits than other provinces. The Anti-C hurch Movement not only caused by the bandits but also escalated. Beyond this, Sichuan officials in the early part of the lesson plans even secretly conniving leadership support. Through this study, writer found several specific characteristics of the Anti-C hurch Movement in Sichuan. Cases widely distributed, mainly in C hongqing, Youyang and Dazu areas. Most counties only happens once AntiChurch Movement; Anti-Church Movement occurred mainly at the county level administrative units; Anti-C hurch Movement occurred in crowded places; Minority Areas multiple Anti-Church Movement. The writer tries to find the distribution and causes of Anti-C hurch Movement by this study.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part, namely the introduction part.
