Guangzhou has always been an important port for foreign communication, as well as the first choice for religious intrusion from outside, since ancient time. Christianity, which was named Jingjiao by the Chinese, first spread into China during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty. Later, most of the missionaries promoted their missions in China from Guangzhou. So, for a long time Christianity in Guangzhou was in the first place in China. But for many reasons, Its mission was not so smooth with many twists and turns. It was with the help of the colonialist invasion that it finally rooted in China, and for this reason it had thousand and one links.Many Chinese scholars have been very interested in their research of Christianity before liberation, but seldom touched on the anti-imperialist patriotic movement. Based on the archives and original materials, the author of this treatise will give some brief ideas about this movement.Before liberation, the patriotic sense of the churches in Guangzhou was getting stronger with the nationalist movement going on in the fields of the indigenization, anti-Christian movement and anti- Japanese war which symbolized the patriotism of the churches and got some experiences in this sphere.Just after liberation, facing the new government of the republic and being anxious about the development of the church, some church people took certain emergency measures .But because of the policies of faith freedom of the government, the broad masses of the Christians stepped on the anti-imperialist patriotic road promoted by the enthusiasm of their nationalism and patriotism. As the south gate of China, Guangzhou was the first and most tensely invaded by the imperialists.
