Tujia brocade is a historic traditional daily necessity passed down from agricultural cultivation period, which reveals the glamorous life wisdom of Tujia nationality. However, Traditional native crafts techniques containing Tujia brocade appear serious development crisis by the advent of globalization. In the new round of national curriculum reform, a three-level curriculum system including national, local and school-based curriculum was established, in which school-based curriculum attracted a wide spread attention. Therefore, a potential path of ethnic culture inheritance can be explored by adding traditional native crafts techniques into school-based curriculum.In the summary of previous studies, school-based curriculum studies mainly focused on the primary and secondary education, whereas vocational education received little attention. Similarly, school-based curriculum studies came under much less attention than heritage researches for Tujia brocade. Current situation, difficulties and improvements of school-based curriculum of Tujia brocade in vocational education need to be studied eagerly. Thus, in this paper, Chongqing Tourism College was chosen as the object. Specifically, the problems occurred in the school-based curriculum development of Tujia brocade were discussed by interviews, questionnaires and literatures and corresponding strategies were proposed by the guidance of constructivism learning theory.The investigation reveals that school-based curriculum of Tujia brocade is already at development and implementation stage in Chongqing Tourism College. Whereas, current course encounters a series of issues such as separation between theory and practice, deficiency of implement situationality analysis, neglect of student demands subjectivity and simplex evaluation system. School-based curriculum is based on school conditions and student demands and constructivism is a learner-centered theory. As a consequence, the following strategies were proposed based on constructivism in order to solve aforementioned issues. Firstly, regard constructivism as the guidance. Secondly, establish classroom teaching and teaching activities embedded! course system. Thirdly, integrate external cultural resources to improve curricula construction. Fourthly, emphasize the subjectivity of student demands. Fifth, enhance theoretical attainment of curriculum development team. Finally, optimize curriculum evaluation system. The above strategies are based on actual investigates leading to admirable practicability, pertinence and universality, which could be a valuable reference to the development of school-based curriculum of Tujia brocade in vocational college.
