A Study On The Possession Category In Modern Uyghur

Possession category is an important subject in the grammatical study of modern Uyghur language grammar. Systematic and detailed discussion to this category is favorable to not only the describing and explaining the peculiar expression, and syntactic functions of such sentence elements in pragmatic use of the Uyghur Possession Category, but also helpful in the second language teaching(teaching foreigners Uygur), machine translation and the natural language processed by machine. So, this article mainly considering both the form and meaning, take into account in multi angle exploration and study the modern Uyghur genitive structure.Possession is people’s understanding on the relationship between the people and people, people and objects, objects and objects in the objective world, different languages all can reflect this kind of understanding. Understanding of the objective genitive form the possession category. The possession category in language belongs to the grammatical semantic category.The main content of this thesis includes the following several parts: the introduction, It mainly introduces the research purpose of the thesis, the significance of research, as well as the topic research status at home and abroad, the research value and the innovation of this dissertation. The first chapter of thisdissertation is mainly introduces the definition of genitive and Possession Category, detailed discusses for characteristic, grammatical form and grammatical meaning of possession category nature. The second chapter of thisdissertation, mainly define to the Uyghur possessive relationship, and explain and illustrate the eight syntactic structure of possessive relationship in the modern Uyghur Language, N1+(ni?)+N2+POS structure, N1+ N2+POS structure, N1+(ni?)+N2 structure, e+N2+POS structure, N1+ni? +e structure, N1+ N2+ni? structure, N1+Pos + N2+ni? structure, N1+Diki+N2 structure types. Studies the establishment of the Uyghur Possession Category based on the four prototypes: ownership, kinship, part/whole relationships, and the cognition of space.The third chapter of this dissertation, mainly discussed the in modern Uyghur language possessive relationship between the syntactic and semantic features, semantic collocation of N1, N2 in N1+(ni?)+N2+POS structure, and 22 kinds of semantic relations in Uyghur language, and explained their semantic binding characteristics. The fourth chapter of this dissertation, detaily discussed syntactic function of the Uyghur possessive phrase, and illustrated the simple form and complex form of syntactic relations in the possessive phrase, the omitting and emerging of the “ni?” in the N1+(ni?)+N2+POS structure and comprehensive explaned ambiguous in the N1+(ni?)+N2+POS structure phrases and eliminate such as ambiguous phares, and summarises the main content of study on the possession category in the modern Uygur language described in this paper.
