An Ambiguity Study About "NP₁+Demonstrative Pronoun+ （Quantifiers）+NP₂" Of Chinese

"NP₁+demonstrative pronoun+（quantifier）+NP₂"is an ambiguous structure in Chinese.For example,“张伟这个助手”has two meanings:”Zhang Wei’s assistant”and“Zhang Wei,the assistant”,which are named as possession meaning and apposition meaning respectively.But“张伟这教师”only means“Zhang wei,the teacher”and“我那个助手”just means“that assistant of mine”.Based on a large corps of data,this article mainly tries to analyse the factors related to the different interpretations of the constructon.The paper is organized as follows.The first part introduces the previoous researches of this ambiguous construction,our research object, and the significance of this research, the research methods and the sources of data used in the study.The second part summarizes the apposition, the possession and the ambiguous types of the costruction through the analysis of the components in the construction,and then explains the reasons for these categories.The main content of the third part is the corpus statistics. These statistics reflect the proportion of the two meanings of the ambiguous construction in the actual data.,and to further reveal the role of the different components in the constuction on the classification of non ambiguous types. To further deepen our understanding of the factors leading to the implementation of the relevant factors.The fourth part shows how to eliminate the ambiguity with the choice of the components in the construction.It also mentions a special type of the construction,i.e,“人家+demonstrative pronoun+（quantifiers）+NP₂”,whose ambiguity can never be eliminated.The last part is the conclusion of the entire thesis. It summarizes the innovation of the paper and admits some shortcoming in the paper and the possible improvements in the future research.
