The Research Of English Writers Workshop

In this dissertation,in the case of the English Writers Workshop that focus on America, I attempt to inspect the history, form, principle, mechanism, work method of the Writers Workshop. This dissertation has used fieldwork, statistical analysis, literature study, case studies and other methods, and the whole studies based on the large of date.Chapter one inspected the history of the Writers Workshop. Dissertation hopes to understand the regulation and motivation of the Writers Workshop clearly, by reviewing the history context of Writers Workshop. Because Writers Workshop is close to Creative Wr iting, so we put the Writers Workshop under the perspective of Creative Wr iting all the t ime when we are reviewing the history context of Writers Workshop, and take the Iowa Writers Workshop as the exemplif ication.Chapter two inspected the form and mechanism of Writers Workshop, the relationship between different form and different mechanism, and the difference between different combinations. Because of the long time development, the English Writers Workshop has developed richly typing, so we have make a classification of the form of the Writers Workshop, based on which to discuss the mechanism in different Writers Workshop. Compared with the chapter one, this chapter take the study center from history to the practice of the workshop.Chapter three based on the results of investigation of the chapter one and chapter two, to dig up the basic principle and method in the Writes Workshops. We must learn the principle of the Writers Workshop so we can run it, and so we must inspect the teaching method if we want to make the writing teaching of Writers Workshop be effective. Therefore this chapter focus on three points that are organizers and participants, activities and objectives, teaching and writing methods. In a word, this chapter is more thorough and meticulous, and put more emphasis on operate in practice.The reason for the development of maturity, growth of English Writers Workshops has its underlying causes, laws, and logics. If we want to develop Chinese Creat ive Writ ing object and establish our own Writers Workshop, we need to inspect the famous English Writers Workshops firstly to get the First-hand information. Therefore this dissertation included detailed investigation and study material famous workshops, to supplement the researching.The Chinese Writers Workshop has just been established, this dissertation hopes to offer more new information, by inspecting the well-know English Writers Workshop, that has referential significance for researching and developing Chinese own Writers’ Workshops.
