"Dzi Bead" In Tibetan Folk Belief Culture Research

Tibetan people is who have Much faiths, so folk belief culture is very rich. As an important part of Tibetan folk beliefs, Dzi bead faith has been involved in the Tibetan areas in their lives. In the Tibetan folk society, it has functions of insulation, beautification, prevention and treatment of disease and others, that is Tibetan lucky thing. According to the existing archaeological data, as far back as the ancient zhang zhung period, Dzi bead has been appeared in Tibetan society. In the long historical process, Dzi bead has been greatly developed and spreaded in the Tibetan folk society. Tibetan folk existes all kinds of legends about Dzi bead, Led to Dzi bead is even more mysterious.The earliest Dzi bead is naturally or etching In the Tibetan society ? that Remains controversial.In the Tibetan folk society,Dzi bead faith is not only a kind of folk culture, is also embodiment of a religious thought.In this paper, it is the Dzi bead phenomenones and Tibetan history in different historical periods as the background, with three major content framework of the thesis: Dzi bead informationes related to the introduction, and sums up Dzi bead phenomenones in the Tibetan society,and to explore the causes that Dzi bead belief is generated and popular in Tibetan folk society. In the first part, it is the basic information of Dzi bead, some controversies caused by the formation of Dzi bead, the historyof origin and development about etching process of Dzi bead and the existing day bead archaeological data,is reviewed and summarized. This paper expounds that the Dzi bead appears in Tibetan social historical background. In this part, the development history of etching process,and Dzi bead is found in the presence of the Tibetan plateau or its surrounding are introduced detailedly. In addition, the controversy that Dzi bead is made of natural or artificial is made a further discussion. In the second part,Some Tibetan folk legends of Dzi bead, its symbolism,and the ornamentation and versatility of Dzi bead in Tibetan society are summarized and expounded.In this paper, the folk legends of Dzi bead are Popular in Tibetan, and it as the function of the amulet in Tibetan society are introduced detailedly. In addition, the symbolism of Dzi bead ornamentation is analysed simply. In the third part, the causes that dzi bead belief is generated and popular in Tibetan folk society is analyzed.To discusse From society, history, religion and art reasons. Some worship phenomenones of Tibetan in the original period, religious thought, the phenomenon of external exchanges and aesthetic demand and so on various aspects are described. And, the inevitability and contingency that Dzi bead appears in Tibetan society are analyzed and expounded.In a word, Based on The Tibetan traditional knowledge for Dzi bead,folk myths, legends, and senior scholar’s related works, in accordance with the process of the historical development of Tibetan and summaryand analysis on the existing archaeological data, to expound the social,religious and historical phenomenones are from Dzi bead faith, for understanding the Tibetan Primitive culture.
