The Ecological Significance Of The “Harmony Between Man And Nature”

With the expanding of industrial civilization process, not only bring the benefits,but also arouse various global ecological problems. Ecological problems are not merely scientific and technological problems. They can directly affect human survival development and value choice. "Harmony between man and nature" of Chinese traditional philosophy has a rich ecological connotation, to build ecological culture of contemporary sustainable development and provide a possible thinking dimension.This paper analyzes the background of "harmony between man and nature" thoughts,in comparison with the modern ecological ethics, and to explore the practical value of Chinese contemporary ecological civilization construction.This paper is divided into three parts. The first part, firstly, analyzes the social and historical background of "harmony between man and nature," unique natural and geographical environment, agricultural production patterns and economic structures,as well as the thinking of ancestors towards original concept of "harmony between man and nature" and the main factors of the mankind. Secondly, giving comprehensive interpretation about the basic meaning of the thought. Finally,combing the concept of the thought and evolution in the history of Chinese thought,leading concepts of all ages thinkers was introduced. The second part, two schools of thought that Confucianism, Taoism as the main body, the system analyzes the core connotation of thought, and ecological wisdom it contains a preliminary discussion.The third section, defined the modern value of the thought "harmony between man and nature" from the analysis of the beginning, development, and the main idea of modern ecological ethics. Especially combined with contemporary Chinese ecological civilization construction carried out some in-depth discussion.Chinese traditional philosophy contains rich ecological thinking, which is why our civilization can last thousands of years. Therefore, we should call for national consciousness in order to serve for the socialist modernization construction.
