| This paper investigates and analyzes the current situation of Uygur language translation in medical institutions in Urumqi. We found that in many large hospitals there are more or less public signs in Chinese with corresponding Uygur language translations. Uygur language used in these translations has the distinctive characteristics of being public signs. However, there are some problems, such as spelling mistakes, grammar errors, improprieties, polysemy and pretermissions. For the purpose of translating more accurately, concisely and clearly and solving the existing problems, we propose corresponding suggestions: improve the quality of translators and the vocational levels of sign makers, establish more professional translation agencies. |
