From the Angle of attention is the hot research in the field of dyslexia study. This study based on the research of predecessors, children with reading disability(hereinafter referred to as the DD), biological age matched groups of children(hereinafter referred to as the CD), matching set of children’s reading level(hereinafter referred to as RD) as the subjects. From the visual attention span, and visual attention shift, these two aspects to discuss dyslexia children’s visual attention processing capacity and the relationship between them and reading. This study includes two experiments: experiment one using single factor design between subjects, the independent variables fis the group(DD, CD set, RD group), the dependent variable is the visual attentional span. Task paradigm is the report task paradigm, including all report task and part of the task. By analyzing the difference of three groups of children in the visual attention span, in order to explore whether there is a visual attention span defect of dyslexia children.Experiment 2, the use of 3(dyslexia children, physiological age matched children, reading level matching children) * 8(interval) * 2(task types: single task and double task),a mixed experimental design to study the ability of dyslexia children’s visual attention shift.Task paradigm is the rapid sequence processing tasks. At the same time, through literature analysis as well as the predecessors’ research shows that There is an important relationship between visual attention and working memory span.Since this study also test working memory span of three groups of subjects. Results showed that: 1.On working memory span test the DD group compared with two control groups showed a significant difficulties. In visual attention span test of all report tasks, dyslexia children showed visual attention span defect, but on the part of the report task, dyslexia children did not show the defect symptoms. However, After controlling the working memory span grades, three groups of participants in the visual attention span test scores had no significant difference. On visual attention shift test, under the condition of single task of the eight kinds of time interval, control the influence of working memory span grades, the DD group of children compared with CD and RD children, there was no significant difference on accuracy. In the dual task, after controling working memory span, the dyslexia children’s accuracy was significantly behind the CD group’s, while because time interval and the interaction between categories, show that dyslexia children have an attention shift deficit. This study has the following conclusions: 1.Chinese developmental dyslexia have no defect in the visual attention span. 2.Chinese developmental dyslexia exist visual attention shift defict and may show a deeper attentional blink.
