The Modern Predicaments And Solutions In Chinese Traditional Charity Conception

Charity is the eternal subject during the development of human society, the development of whichrepresentsthelevelofcivilizationandmoralityofsociety.Nowadays,itisnecessaryforthecharityinChinatodevelop well under the guide of the charity conception which is suitable for Chinese charity. Charityconception is such a conception that people gradually form their judgment about good and evil during theirbehavior,andfinallyformthecriterionofidealandbeliefandreachtheagreementaboutmorality.In Chinese traditional culture,“kindheartedness” in Confucianism is the heart of traditional charityconception. In those days, such charity conception played a positive role in helping social vulnerable groups,stabilizing domination and elevating the level of the morality. With the development of human society andcharity,thetransformingof thetraditionalcharityisurgentforthedevelopmentandprogressofsociety.In this article, the author has analyzed the origin of Chinese traditional charity conception in order toresearch the problems and predicaments that face the traditional charity conception in the development ofmodern charity. Considering the subject of “the predicaments that face the traditional charity andcorresponding solutions”, formthe anglesof view of wealth transforming, cultivating the responsibilitysense,creating the atmosphere of charity and scientific pushing measures, the author has proposed some adviceaboutpushingforwardthetransformingofthetraditionalcharity.The article is composed of four parts. In the first part, the conception and characteristic of charity andcharityideaarediscussed,besides,themoraleffectsofcharityconceptiononcharitybehaviorsareanalyzed;Inthe second part, the author give detailed introduction about the charity ideas in Confucianism, Taoism andBuddhism in the old days of China. The recent charity affected by western ethical thoughts has also beendiscussed; In the third part, the author indicate that the nature of traditional charity is introverted and close,which form the predicament facing the modern charity;In the final part, solutionshave been proposed for thetransforming from traditional charity to the modern one, which contain the transforming of government role,updatetheconceptionofrunningcharityorganizations,cultivatingtheatmosphereofcharityinthesocietyandacceleratingthetechnologytransformingofthecharitymode.
