In recent years, as the continual development of graphology, the theoretical foundation ofhandwriting identification has also been gradually improved. There is no doubt that thescientific status of handwriting identification conclusions has been stabilized, but inpractice,there are still problems, such as the errors of the expert ‘s conclusion, tendentiousexpert’s conclusions or hard to make the conclusion of the handwriting identification. Thecauses of such phenomena are variety, but the main reasons are the demands of the samplescomparability can’t be met and the differentia can not be reasonably explained. These are allclosely related to the experts lack of the knowledge of the diversity of the writing habits.Therefore, analysis and study the diversity of writing habits, improving the handwritingidentification theory is very necessary and it’s also an urgent problem need to be solved.This paper is based on the theory of writing habit, study the diversity of the formationmechanism of the writing habits, and to define the concept of diversity in the writing habits,meanwhile research the expression and the characteristics of the writing habits diversity, andmake a distinction among the writing habits diversity performance, changes in handwritingand disguised handwriting. It is significant to determine whether the writing habits of thetesting materials belong to one person or different writers. At last, analysis and research theproblems that may arise in the process of handwriting authentication.This paper is divided into four parts,38000words altogether.The frist part is the basic theory, is a key part of this paper. This part briefly introducesthe concept of writing habits and the formation mechanism in the point of psychological andphysiological view, then defines the concept of writing habits diversity and highlights the theformation mechanism of the diversity in writing habits. The causes of the formation mainlyinclude the diversity practice of imitative objects, different levels of writers’ writing skill andwriting levels, different aesthetic taste and vocational need, as well as the high occurrence rateof the diversity in signature writing habit.The second part is based on a certain understanding of the concepts and the formationmechanism of writing habits diversity, describes the expressions,and characteristics ofdiversity of writing habits. The diversity mainly performances in chirography, font, grapheme,writing movement, stroke order, writing speed, the structure of the word and the word grouparrangement. As well as the writing habit, the diversity of writing habits has the nature of particularity, stability, independence and selective reflection.The third part is the distinction among the performance of the writing habits diversity,changes in handwriting and disguised handwriting. First, make a brief introduction of thetypes and characteristics of the changes in handwriting and disguised handwriting. Thenelaborate the essential attributes and respective characteristics of the three type of writinghabits.The last part is also a key part of this paper. In this part, the author will present problemswhich may arise in the process of diversity identification, first introduce the identificationmethods of writing habits diversity, then explain the different points that may occur in theprocess of diversity identification, due to the problem that the comparability requirements ofhandwriting samples can not conform to the identification requirements, the author will givesome suggestions of the handwriting samples collection. Finally,it will introduce thecondition and expression of the diversity identification conclusion.
