Arabic numerals are important constituent of various writing system, which record important information in the social activities and political and economic life. For example, it becomes the main carrier of relevant information in bills, accounts, forms, work-records and other legal documents. So Arabic numerals handwriting becomes the important evidence of some criminal, administrative litigation and civil property disputes cases, which need to determine the authenticity or the writer of the handwriting by handwriting identification. But because the Arabic numerals belong to a foreign writing, which have simple strokes, single structure, high degree of writing diversity and are easy to write, so, it is difficult to identify the Arabic numeral handwriting. In China, regarding to the theory and practice of Arabic numeral handwriting identification, although there are some research achievement and experience for the identification of basis, appraisal method and scientific and reliability of the conclusion, it is still lack in the aspect of comparative research and systematic empirical studies, thus it is necessary to study further.There are three parts in text. Firstly, the author discusses the basic theories of Arabic numerals handwriting identification, and through the comparative research methods, constructs the system of the Arabic numeral handwriting features referring to the classification of English handwriting features. On this basis, through the statistical analysis method, the author summarizes the performance of the features about the ten Arabic numerals, by observing and analyzing one hundred samples of Arabic numerals handwriting, and carries on appraising the value of these features. Finally, on the basis of previous two parts, the author expounds the point of the identification of the Arabic numeral handwriting.The first part is the basic theory of the Arabic numeral handwriting identification, including statement of its basic parts of the Arabic numeral handwriting paper writing movement habits and constructing the system of the Arabic numeral handwriting features. The Arabic numeral handwriting writing movement habits include three aspects, which is named the particularity, the stability and the reflection of Arabic numeral handwriting. The theory of writing movement habits is the basic theory of handwriting identification; the author introduces the particularity, the stability and the reflection of the writing movement habits of the Arabic numeral handwriting combining with their own characteristics, making it more specific and more targeted. In the part of constructing the Arabic numeral handwriting characteristic system, in view of the similarity of the method of construction and usage between the Arabic numerals and English letters, the author adopts the comparative study method, referring to the classification and name from the English handwriting feature, construct the system of the Arabic numeral handwriting characteristics through two strands, which is from the macroscopic level that is the general feature of writing movement to the micro level that is the feature of the construction of Arabic numeral handwriting and from the feature of a single Arab numeral handwriting to the combined feature of multiple Arabic numerals characteristics.The second part is the statistical analysis study for Arabic numerals handwriting characteristics, the author collected one hundred handwriting samples of Arabic numerals, counts the occurrence rates of construction feature ten numbers from zero to nine respectively, and summarizes of occurrence rates about every types features of every numbers, the statistics results reflect the degree of the particularity and the stability of every characteristics types, and clear about the appraisal value of various characteristics types. And at the same time, comprehensively considering the feature appearance of Arabic numerals handwriting of samples, the statistics of occurrence rates of each feature type, and the statistical data about the various types feature of the same handwriting characteristic from the same writer, the author summarizes the general rule of the particularity, the stability and the diversity of the Arabic numerals handwriting characteristics.The third part is the final end-result of the text-- probing the key points of the Arabic numerals handwriting identification. This part is developed according to the process of identifying, that is, the first thing is to analyze the condition of identification about the inspection material and samples, secondly, extracts their characteristics, finally, make judgments based on the comparison and analysis of the characteristics, and make a conclusion. First of all, the author analyzes the identifying condition of the Arabic numeral handwriting which is disguised and changed and which is modified respectively, because of the particularity of this the two kinds of inspection material of Arabic numerals handwriting, and it needs to judge whether it has conditions to be identified or not, in order to get the right and scientific conclusion. After analyzing the identifying conditions of the abnormal Arabic numeral handwriting separately, it is time to launch the identification according to the normal inspection material, in this process, it is very important to collect the samples of Arabic numeral handwriting, because the performance of the particularity and diversity of the inspection material of Arabic numerals handwriting can be corroborated by sample, especially corroborate the latter. Finally, it is time to select the characteristics and judge the appraisal value of handwriting based on the previous two parts, and in the end, judge the point of difference and point of conformance to draw a scientific and accurate conclusions based on acknowledge general rule of stability and diversity about the in Arabic numerals handwriting features.
