Research On Dipu System In Song Dynasty

When postal transfer system developed in ancient China to the Song Dynasty, which produced a series of changes, the most prominent change is the relay and handed separation. In order to maintain the normal operation of the system of delivery shop, Song has developed a comprehensive and rigorous system. In order to adapt to this change, Song Dipu system almost exclusively instrument transmission mechanism. It can be said Song strict laws regarding Song’s Dipu system has an important position in the history of ancient China postal system, and it deserves to be explored and studied.This issue discussed Dipu system in following aspects:The first part is about post laws and Dipu system in Song Dynasty. In this part, Dipu system is analyzed from the perspective of its legislation, level of law and the vicissitude of law. The second part is about the organization of Dipu system. The Dipu station’s categories and functions are explored from two sides:the vicissitude of the organization and its types. Meanwhile, this thesis makes a deep investigation and clarifies the statement that Step delivery, horse delivery, emergency delivery are just3levels of documents’heritage, but not different types of Dipu station. The third part is about the management of Dipu station’s system. Starting from the perspective of the management of personnel and equipments in the Dipu station, the management of people and stuff are given a detailed analysis. The fourth part is about the operating mechanism of the delivefory station’s system, which includes the forward of documents and personnel and authorities’stuff. Based on the procedures and relative safeguard measures during the forward process of the system, the thesis tries to present the running feature of the Dipu system in Song Dynasty. What’s more, the thesis also illustrates the function and organization of delivery personnel and authorities’stuff in the system. The fifth part is about the rise and fall of the Dipu system. The innovation of the management system and performance of managing post are explored in this part. At the same time, the thesis also explores reasons behind the fall of the Dipu system in Song Dynasty in order to shed some lights on s the changing process of the system and draw lessons from the history.
