Research On The Cultivation Of Gratitude Consciousness Of Contemporary Citizens

Gratitude is a common human emotion and social ethics. Since ancient times,there is a tradition of gratitude in our country. Gratitude consciousness has a longhistory and it is the code of ethics and rules of conduct to maintain the relationshipbetween family and society for thousands of years. It is also an important part ofChinese traditional culture. With the development of the society, the mainstream ofgratitude consciousness of the contemporary citizens is good and positive ingeneral. However, with the deepening of the reform and opening up, thedevelopment of market economy and foreign trends of culture under the influenceof many factors, a problem inevitably appeaed in our society that some citizenslack gratitude consciousness. And it has already brought to the high attention atpresent. Therefore, for lacking gratitude consciousness of some citizens, onlytaking effective measures to cultivate gratitude consciousness of contemporarycitizens will they achieve the goal of all-round development themselves andharmonious socialist society. Based on the results of previous studies, the writernot only studies the theoretical origin and connotation of gratitude consciousness,analyzes the present situation of contemporary citizens’ gratitude consciousnessand the cause of its deficiency, compares the Chinese traditional gratitudeconsciousness with the western’s, but it also gives some practical advices forcontemporary citizens to cultivate gratitude consciousness. Thus it provides aguideline for reference to explore and achieve contemporary citizens’ all-rounddevelopment.
