The Study On The Dilemma And Countermeasure Of Contemporary Chinese Philanthropic Ethics

The development of Chinese philanthropy has a long history and its thoughts are extremely abundant as well. But due to the influence of multiple factors, in recent years, charity scandals appear frequently in our society, which have a bad effect on the development of philanthropy. The fundamental reason is that the development of charity ethics is disordered. Therefore, it has become extremely urgent to strengthen research and practice in the field of philanthropy ethics for the development of Chinese charity. This paper is trying to investigate in the following aspects, which strive to perfect Chinese philanthropy ethics and to promote the development of Chinese charities.Firstly, on the basis of history and western culture, we should encourage and support the development of charities. This paper makes the definition of the concept of charity and philanthropic ethics, then analyzes relationship between ethics and morality of charity, next discusses history of philanthropic ethics development in China and West Country.Secondly, clarify situations and discuss the reason, then pay attention to the development dilemma of philanthropic ethics. This paper begins from the cognitive, emotional and behavioral dilemma of philanthropic ethics, and then applies the theories in charity cases which is hotly debated. Then study focus on what is the dilemma of philanthropic ethics and analyze the causes of these problems, which is helpful to continue the next research.Thirdly, this article try to explore the socialist charity idea with Chinese characteristics from referencing the past to the present and employing foreign things to China. To match the dilemmas mentioned above, this part puts forward series of countermeasures to perfect philanthropic ethics:correct charity motivation, uphold the guidance of Marx’s ethics, determine the correct views about wealth; coordinate virtue ethics with normative ethics, improve social justness, strengthen the government moderate supervision, work up the new philanthropic ethics in order; unify motive and effect, regulate the conflict between gratitude and respect, regulate the conflict between responsibility and freedom, establish the socialist charity idea with Chinese characteristics; treat correctly the Chinese traditional culture and western culture, strengthen the teaching of philanthropic ethics, innovate the atmosphere of modern charity culture, finally, advocate all-people philanthropic.
