On The Moral Cultivation Of Rural Parents-absent Children

Since the reform and opening-up policy, China’s urbanization processhas developed more quickly. Surplus rural labors come into cities to work. However,because of the mobility of their jobs, no house to live, economic pressure and so on,they can’t achieve the whole-family migration. Their children have to be left in ruralareas to live and study, who are called “rural parents-absent children”. Ruralparents-absent children are the product of China’s social transformation. Their moraleducational problem is one important part of the problem of peasant workers.At first, this dissertation presents the background of the problem concerning ruralparents-absent children. Then, it puts forward the range, ways, and solutions on basis ofrelevant latest research. Starting with the phenomenon of rural parents-absent children,relying on the survey data, this essay provides a detailed description of ruralparents-absent children’s contemporary situations about living and studying in ruralareas and laying an empirical foundation to discover the moral educational matter ofrural parents-absent children. Thirdly, beginning with the survey data, it discusses thereasons of the moral educational problem of the rural parents-absent children. Thecauses leading to the problem are the lack of family education, the small part of schooleducation playing and hindrance of social system. And finally, based on the causes, itputs forward the solutions of this problem. To solve this problem, it needs family, schooland the society to work together. To solve the problem completely, the governmentshould take active measures to exert educational intervention and relieve the educationalproblem of rural parents-absent children.
