Research On Citizen Ethics Construction From The Perspective Of Building Up A Harmonious Socialist Society

Building a harmonious society has long been an important goal of both our Party andour country in constructing Chinese Socialism. The core of building a harmonious society isthe ideological and moral construction of our citizens, which embodies our contemporarynational spirit and the needs of social development. Morality is not only the criteria forcitizen behavior in daily life, but also the performance of citizens in various social activities.The construction of civic morality is the moral foundation and motivation for building aharmonious society, and the two are closely related to each other. The construction ofharmonious society not only provides a favorable atmosphere and environment for themoral construction but also promote the full development of individual citizen, and in turn,the construction of harmonious society also needs the qualified talents with excellentmorality who are cultivated under moral construction.The analysis of the basic problems of the moral construction under the view ofharmonious society mainly centers on the expounding of the basic concepts of socialmorality, which include the origin of the term “citizen”, the definition of civic morality, thepractical significance of strengthening moral construction. The existing problems, the lackof occupation morals and social morality consciousness, credit crisis, desalination oftraditional family virtue and the causes of all these problems are also included. Theproblems are not accidental and the corresponding solutions to them have to be found. Toimprove the quality of civic morality and strengthen the moral consciousness througheducation; to improve the occupation morals in order to serve the public and contribute tothe society; to reshape credit society and construct the credit civilization; to carry forwardthe fine traditional virtues of the Chinese nation and build harmonious family are alleffective solutions. People’s morality is not innate. It is gradually formed and developed inthe long process of social practice, which is the source of people’s morality as well as thepurpose and destination of ideological and moral construction.
