The period of Agrarian Revolution is the10-year turbulence, when Kuomintang andCPC fought hand to hand many times,Japanese troops invaded China,and the wholesociety was thrown into utter chaos caused by wars.For self-promotion, leading campaigns and disintegrating the enemy forces, CPC notonly made much account of slogans, but also used them widely in this period. Asystem about slogans was formed gradually, which involved principle and practice.Many flexible approaches were developed, such as tree, river and kite slogans. Theyplayed an irreplaceable role in propaganda work of CPC.The study of these slogans will help know the propaganda work of CPC deeply frommicroscopic perspective.And the investigation procedure used in making banners andthe spirits of not-afraid-of-suffering is worthy of our study. By reading lots ofdocumentation, reports and memoirs, the paper tries to show the history and processof slogans propaganda of CPC in that time.The thesis is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction to clarify theconcepts used in the article and review the existing research results while introducingthe meaning, focus and difficulties.The second part describes the overall background of CPC’s slogan work, and reflectsCPC’s emphasis on slogans by the developed regulations, as well as becoming-training-content slogans.The third part is the keystone of the article, studying the general situation, practices,evolution and effects of slogan work in different religions and activities. There arewhite area and Red Region in terms of regional perspective, and there are battles, theLong March and holidays in terms of activity perspective. CPC created many specialpractices to do slogan work in this period, and did a good job because of universalityin using, intimacy to audience interests in content and subdivision in target. But thereis a dilemma due to the inadequate explanation of slogan and the low popular literacy.The fourth part uses text analysis method to analyze the slogan text from the point ofcontent, characteristic and function. The fifth part draws conclusions and tries to get inspiration for today propagandafrom CPC’s slogan work. What is particularly worth to be learned is the workingspirit.
