Innovation In Urban Management Of Harbin

Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province, is the largest central city at thenortheast of China. And it is also an important manufacture foundation and historiccity which is fomous for its ice and snow. The economy of Harbin has developedrapidly since the Chinese economic reform and which demands a better work in theurban management innovation of Harbin. Since2002, Harbin has enterd into a newstage of urban management and obtained many achievements after various new try.There are still many weaknesses existing in the urban management innovationrestricting the city competing capacity, the development of city economy, society andculture, which need to be fingured out urgently.This paper draws on the literatures of urban management and its innovation andanalyzes the related theories. Then the current situation of urban managementinnovation in Harbin is described to fingure out the weaknesses. After learning fromthe advanced experience of developed countries and cities, suggestions are proposedto improve the innovation of urban management in Harbin, including enhancing theinnovative concepts, syatems, models and evaluations.
