In generally, generalized national identification refers to citizens based on common cultural heritage, moral values, ideal faith which generates the sense of belonging and identification of nation and country. However, because the transformation of times and society, national identification is not static, stagnant, but continuous, dynamic, through analyzing the national identification of each period, we can find the theme of social changes. The purpose of this article, mainly choosing the Mikado system the unique traditional resources to carry out the related research of Japanese national identification, meanwhile choosing two Japanese constitutions(the Meiji Constitution and the Peace Constitution) as the main text. The research ideas of the dissertation is through the research of Japanese constitutions’ text and background to clearly and accurately grasp the variation of Japanese Mikado system in the reform process, and to reveal the significance of the national identification in the process of construction of modern country, namely the impact of “the positive and the negative” in the modern state governance, finally puts forward author’s introspection on the modernity of national identification. The first part based on the classic western theory, through the brief introduction of the basic concepts about national identifications and their relationship to put forward the proposition that Japanese national identification. The second part centered on Mikado system to carry out the investigation and research of the formulation background, process, text, significance and impact of the Meiji Constitution(“the Constitution of the Japan Empire”). After investigation and research, we can found the Japanese Mikado system as the main content of national identification has profound inner contradiction. On the one hand, the government through use and reform the modern Mikado system that traditional resource ensured the continuity of the Japanese spirit and let people more likely to form a national identification mood, so that make sure of the independence of the nation and the unification of the country; On the other hand, the tradition magnified inherent the defects of national identification. The inherent defects not only make the national lost independence personality, but also encouraged the hostile attitude to other Asian countries, eventually led the Japanese nationalism extremely crazy. The third part also centered on Mikado system to carry out the investigation and research of the formulation background, process, text, significance and impact of the Peace Constitution(“the Japanese Constitution”).After investigation and research, we can found the symbolic Mikado system as the main content of national identification also has a profound inner contradiction. On the one hand, postwar symbolic Mikado system which has the peace color more represents the cultural identification that embodies the spirit of modern liberty and democracy. On the other hand, the debility of national identification coupled with complicated environment both at home and abroad make it hard for Japan to establish a unified national consciousness which lead Japan fell into the crisis of homogenization and the individual fell loneliness and confusion. This make Japanese history and tradition be used to strengthen the national idea again. The fourth part is also the last part that through a summary and comparison of national identification which created by the two constitution to reveal the proposition hiding Japanese national identification.
