The issue of what path we take is of vital importance for the survival of the Party, the future of China, the destiny of the Chinese nation, and the well-being of the people. Since reform and opening up, our Party has pursued its own course independently by adapting the basic tenets of Marxism to China’s conditions and the underlying trend of the times. It is a path of socialism with Chinese characteristics which were world historically significant.
