The Regulations Of GMO Safety

Since the 20 th century,GMO technology has become an irreversible trend in the field of biotechnology. With transgenic technology developing to market, the applications of transgenic technology is not only limited to the laboratory, but also into the public’s daily life. Transgenic technology in resolving food shortages and enhancing human health and protection of natural resource and controlling the spread of disease has played an increasingly important role. However, with the GMOs increasingly contacting with the public, the public also doubt GMOs,which caused a lot of disputes.Internationally, the law for GMO safety has been more completed. The law of developed country is standardized and systematic,which escorts the development of transgenic biotechnology and resolve infringement issues. However, in the new historical context of Chinese accessed to the WTO, we must continue improving our the law for GMO safety, to make our GMO safety managements adapting to the pace of technological development of genetically modified organisms.In analyzing the security risks of genetically modified organisms, the article elaborates the necessity of GMOs safe legal regulation.The analysis of domestic and foreign GMO safety law summarize our current basic problems of GMO Safety and absorb the essence of foreign GMO safety legislation.The article put forward suggestion from the basic principle,the basic system and the basic policy, improving the level of safety regulation of GMOs. On this basis, GMO technology achieves positive development, public life maintains orderly operation,ecological environment is sustainable development, which balance between biotechnology development and human security, between private interests and public interests.
