Casework Methods In Social Support Networks Of Urban Home Care

At present, China has entered the aging society. The number of elders over 60 year has reached 212 million, accounting for 15.5% of the total population,over 65 year accounted for 10.1 percent, reaching 137 million. In 2020, China’s elderly people over 60 will account for 18 % of the population and it will reach 31.1% in 2050. Comparing with other countries, China has the lower level of the productive forces of the stage, "Being old before getting rich" is a major feature in this period. In this context, home care has become a way of optimal choice of the social pension. Home care can not only realize the combination of pension and family pension endowment, but also make the community mobilization and other aspects to provide support for the elderly.Many elderly have a series of physical and psychological problems at home, because of the lack of social support. Building support networks for the elderly can improve the lives of the elderly.From the demand Social support of home care can be divided into the financial support, life support and spiritual support. From the source it can be divided into formal and informal support systems. Formal support comes from the government, social organizations and communities. Informal support comes from spouses, children and the elderly themselves. Home care needs both formal support and informal support.In this study, author visited two home care elderly in X community,Huanggu district,Shenyang and provide them professional services by using casework methods of social work.Basing on the actual situation of the elderly, author analyzed the problems and helped them solve the problems. Basing on the practice and combining with a lot of relevant research data, author summarized the home care social support of elderly under the resource integration.At last author made several suggestions about how to take advantage of social work to help build the home care social support network better.
