Research On Practicing Mass Line By Xi Zhongxun

The mass line is CCP’s creative application and development of basic principle of historical materialism: the masses are history-makers. It is the fundamental working and organization route of CCP, and also political advantages of CCP.During the period of democratic revolution, Chairman Mao praised Xi Zhongxun as “a leader from the masses”. During his long-term revolutionary career, Xi Zhongxun has always persisted in implementing CCP’s mass line, consistently innovated thinking of work and practice of the mass line and formed his own special characteristics of mass line practice. Therefore, research on Xi zhongxun’s modeling practice in CCP’s mass line and characteristics offers reference for CCP that are developing educational practice of the mass line, with quite important reality meanings. Meanwhile, it is our theoretical researchers’ responsibility to study and summarize revolutionary traditions and spiritual wealth left by proletarian revolutionists.On the basis of existing research achievements, by combing mass line practice of Xi Zhongxun in revolutionary work of different historical periods(democratic revolution, the preliminary stage of the socialist construction and the early era of reform and opening-up), this paper shows that he effectively combines the way to practice mass line and methods, highlights his ability to mutually transform theory and practice and sorts out important characteristics of Xi Zhongxun’s mass line practice. The author considers that characteristics of Xi Zhongxun’s mass line practice are centrally embodied in the following aspects: keeping close links with the masses is the foundation for Xi Zhongxun’s mass line practice; relying on wisdom of the masses is an important way of Xi Zhongxun’s mass line practice; learning from the masses is the principle of Xi Zhongxun’s mass line practice; for the masses is the purpose of Xi Zhongxun’s mass line practice. Under the new historical conditions, this down-to-earth working attitude of clear thinking is an important reference for us to improve CCP’s governing capacity and leading level.This paper is divided into four parts. Chapter 1 briefly illustrates this topic’s research meaning, research status both at home and abroad, basic frame and research methods and this paper’s innovative points. Chapter 2 reappears Xi Zhongxun’s modeling practice of CCP’s mass line by specific cases. Chapter 3 concludes and sorts out characteristics of XiZhongxun’s mass line practice. Chapter 4 defines contemporary values of Xi Zhongxun’s mass line practice, theoretical values and educational significance for contemporary mass line and practice.
