based on the theory of automata cellular with floor field, the paper proposes a model that can simulate pedestrians choosing exit in a multi-exit room or in a room with emergency exits which can be activated at a certain time step during the evacuation. The pedestrians choose an exit in the model by a way that pedestrian weigh all the exits in the room with two factors, the one is distance weighted by k and the other one is competition weighted by 1-k. the cost is defined as the sum of the two factor with weight. With every exit cell in the room with a "unit field", the pedestrians choose a lowest cost exit and move by the "unit field" of the exit he choose. The result shows that no matter how the pedestrians distribute and what the layout of the exits is, the pedestrians will make the most of the exits in the room. Since the weight k is a free parameter, to make the model better the optimal weight..denotes as fc,which make the evacuation fastest should be obtain or at least enough knowledge of k should be gained. So the paper study the optimal weight k, and finds that it is affected by the pedestrian density and the layout of exits and room.On the emergency exit, the result shows that the emergency exit should open as soon as possible before it’s too late otherwise the evacuation time will take longer than the situation that have no emergency exit. three layouts of the exits are compared and find that the adjacent emergency exit layout is the best...
