Mao Zedong Thought On The United Front And The Value Of Contemporary Research

The united front is a basic strategic principle of Marxism. The united frontthought is not only an important part of Mao Zedong Thought, but the importanttheoretical achievements of Marxism sinicization. It is also the theoretical basis of thetheory system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and is the powerful weaponfor the triumph of the Chinese revolution and construction as well. Keeping pace withthe times to analyze the united front of Mao Zedong Thought has important boththeoretical value and practical value for development of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics under the new historical background.From Marxist world view and methodology, this paper systematically studies theunited front of Mao Zedong Thought, by using literature study method, historicalanalysis and inductive synthesis. First of all, this paper expounds the formingconditions which contain the historical background, theoretical sources and practicalbasis about the united front of Mao Zedong Thought. And this part is divided into fourparts: germination, formation, maturity and development. Secondly, the authorgeneralizes the content and characteristics of the united front of Mao Zedong Thought.This part mainly contains six parts including: the united front of Mao Zedong Thoughtis one powerful weapon of the Chinese revolution and construction, the most extensiveunited front which including two league, the Party’s leadership of the united front, thebasic strategy of union and struggle principle, combination of principle and flexibility,multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of thecommunist party. Firmness, times and innovation of Leadership and universality of theleague is the characteristics of united front Mao Zedong Thought. Thirdly, thecontemporary value of Mao Zedong united front thought is creatively illustrated.Theoretically, it develops Marxist united front theory, lays a foundation for the unitedfront theory system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and provides historicalexperience for the development of the patriotic united front; practically, it consolidatesthe patriotic united front of new times, promotes socialism with Chinese characteristics,perfects the socialist deliberative democracy system, and promotes the peacefulreunification of motherland. This paper mainly discuss the value of Mao Zedongunited front thought for improving the system of socialist deliberative democracy,combining Mao Zedong united front thought with “improvement of socialistdeliberative democracy system” which mentioned in the report of18th PartyCongress for the first time.
