Study On Copyright Of Mobile Application

The development of computer software is tightly following the rapid pace of computer hardware. Owing to the progress of technology, significant change occurs in computer storage techniques. In the Internet era, computer software is getting rid of the dependence of tangible and fixed medium, and delivered in a fast, simple and decentralized way, which brings new opportunities and challenges to software publishing. Especially with the emergence of Apple App Store and the success of its business model, the mobile application industry has entered a rapid stage of development. A large number of mobile application developers join the group of application development, and different kinds of mobile application stores are set up. The mobile application market is increasingly competitive.However, with the development of technology and the change of dissemination, issues of software copyright has become increasingly serious, which has resulted in great damage to the mobile application provider and the whole mobile application industry. The core reason of the problem is the conflict of interests of the three actors in the mobile application industry, which are mobile application provider, mobile application store and user.Mobile application store, in the core position of the mobile application industry, connects mobile application provider and users, and thus plays a vital and influential role in copyright issues. To solve the increasing and serious copyright issues in mobile application market, the key is to improve and optimize the business model and management model of mobile application store.Based on the analysis of three actors in mobile application industry, namely mobile application provider, mobile application store and user, case study of Apple App Store and its business model, and interpretation and analysis of Copyright Law and the Regulations on Protection of Computer Software, this paper investigates into the root and reason of infringement of software copyright and provides solutions and suggestions according to research results.
