The Analysis Of The Core Values Of The PLA Today

The core values of the PLA rules all the army men’s ideas and conducts in the PLA, being the core and foundation of the army men’s comprehensive qualities. The core values of the PLA today is a significant achievement of the Comrade Hu Jintao who views from the angle of contemporary development and army’s political and ideological building. It has absorbed the advanced theoretical innovation achievements of the Communist Party of China and the splendid fruits of the human civilization. It conforms the trend of the time, and also caters to the contemporary needs of the PLA for performing its historical duty at the new age. For all the members in the PLA, it is the most advanced values, which is full of guiding significance and clear aims.The values building of PLA has a long history. Though in the past, the clearly-defined concept was not advanced, it didn’t mean that the PLA didn’t have its own core values in actual. For a long time, the constitution, the laws and the PLA’s political regulations have regulated the nature, the aim and the duty of the PLA, those embodies the core values of the PLA. On the basis of those advanced theories such as military ideologies of Mao Zedong, army building ideologies at the new historical stage of Deng Xiaoping, national defense and army building ideologies of Jiang Zemin and a series of expositions about national defense and army building of Hu Jintao, the values building of PLA has gained great achievements, thus lay a solid foundation for the summation and formation of the core values of the PLA today.By introducing concept and essential features of the core values of the PLA today, this thesis elaborates the background to the times to foster the PLA’s values development, and also shows the phenomenon of lack of values in the PLA, furthermore, it analyzes the cause of that phenomenon. It puts forward the necessity and methods to fully foster the core values of the PLA today, through absorbing the essence of the foreign army men’s values and historical army men’s values, so it is of significant sense to guide the forstering core values of the PLA today.
