In the late1980s and in the early1990s, the disintegration of the SovietUnion and the drastic change in Eastern Europe became a significant historical eventin the movement of socialism in the world. This event has led to great changes ofsocialism cause in the world. Many former socialist countries changed their socialnature, abandoning socialism and defecting to the capitalism. The Socialismmovement fell into a trough during that time. However, some Communist Parties indeveloped countries continued to persist in Socialist orientation, reflecting the lessonsof the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the drastic change in Eastern Europe. Atthe same time, they explored new theories continuously, expanded their practicalexperience and gradually developed a distinctive new achievement of Marxism andSocialism.
