Happiness is an old and new topic, which is the ultimategoal that the mankind pursues, and the issue of happiness hasalways caused concern and discuss from earliest times to thepresent day. However, views on the definition of happiness andthe access to it vary from person to person in consideration ofdifferent ages, stages, and levels. Look back at the opinions onthose issues, past philosophers, ethicisfs and scholars putforward different characteristic elaborations views fromvarious angles and among them, Marx’s view of happiness is themost perfect and outstanding one. In recent years, with thedevelopment of market economy, our economy and even thecomprehensive national strength have significantly enhanced,and people’s living level has also been improved. People’smaterial needs are largely satisfied while the spiritual demandhas not been covered; on the contrary, some even feel moreempty and unhappy in life. The material wealth increase couBd provide a better life, but in fact happiness is far from ascended,people become more and more unhappy. Then, happy"alienation" has appeared. This shows that the rich materialwealth does not provide conditions for people to achievehappiness but become a dominant and ruling power of human.On the other hand, it also shows people’s lack of understandingabout the true happiness. Therefore, it is necessary for us todeeply study and understand Marx’s view of happiness to findout the connotation and essence of happiness and to help us tocorrect the misunderstandings of happiness on the past so as toestablish a scientific and rational concept of happiness, and topromote the construction of the overall progress society andrealize Chinese dream.The pursuit of happiness is a dynamic process of eternity.Marx’s concept of happiness is different from the previousconcept of happiness. His concept which is the scientificdescription and analysis of the real life is not the simple fictionfor the future ideal life. The author first explained the relatedconcepts of happiness by reading a lot of history books andmaterials. At the same time, the author reviewed the concept ofhappiness in the history of the previous philosophy so as to findthe theoretical source of Marx’s concept of happiness. After that, by interpreting the classics of Marx, the author roughlyreviewed the development process of Marx’s concept ofhappiness according to the Marx’s related articles. Then, theauthor introduced the main contents and characteristics ofMarx’s concept of happiness. He discussed the fundamentaldifferences between the Marx’s concept of happiness and theprevious concept of happiness from the aspects of thededication and creation of labor, the material and spiritualsatisfaction, the happiness of individuals and all humanity, theall-round development of mankind, etc. Finally, the authorpointed out the contemporary value in Marx’s concept ofhappiness. Marx’s concept of happiness had the importanttheoretical guidance for the understanding of individualconcept, the choice of youth career, the understanding ofreligious belief, the achievement of “Chinese Dream” and theconstruction of a harmonious society.In short, the study of Marx’s view of happiness can give us abetter understanding of the connotation and essence ofhappiness. More importantly, it contributes a lot to establish ascientific and rational health concept of happiness and to find ascientific road to pursue and enjoy true happiness in thecomplicated society. In this way, the full of personal happiness can come true under the guidance of Marx’s view of happiness.Only based on the realization of personal happiness, socialoverall happiness and the whole social development can befinally achieved.
