The 2011 Singapore’s parliamentary election was called "watershed election" by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. It reflects not only the domestic political landscape changes in Singapore, also the political democratization which is an irreversible historical trend. Therefore, the election is very important. The paper is about the 2011 election of Singapore and its political impact.The text is divided into four parts.The first part is about the original parliamentary democracy of Singapore. The Singapore political system is based on the United Kingdom colonial system. That is the establishment of a parliamentary cabinet system. Congress adopted a unicameral rule. Due to historical reasons, it formed the People’s Action Party(PAP) has been a one-party dominance of politics.The second part is general surveying the 2011 election of Singapore. With the view of the vertical and horizontal comparison, it is an analysis of typical cases to show the changes that have occurred in the election.The third part makes the analysis of the 2011 election of Singapore changes in roots. The election is impacted not only by domestic and international environments; there is also the influence of the ruling party and the opposition itself. Ultimately, the election situation is the root of Singapore’s authoritarian rule has caused widespread public discontent.The fourth part is on the analysis of future political development of Singapore. Primarily through the political impact of this election, political participation, political party competition, benefit structure, and political democratization in perspective, analysis Singapore’s future political direction.
