A Study Of Home Care Facilities In City Existing Communities Based On The Theory Of Living Satisfaction

China has entered aging society, and home care is becoming a high priority of the seniors to aging-in-place. Therefore, federal and local governments promote the delivery of home care services and facilities. However, the development of communities’ facilities for seniors is still of great challenges, there are many problems to be solved.Based on the literature review of the development of home care services and facilities, and senior living preferences, combined with the field research, surveys and interviews did in Hangzhou, the paper first develops a model to formalize the senior living satisfaction, then investigate how the satisfaction of home care facility will affect senior living satisfaction. Moreover, the paper from the perspective of home care services and facilities satisfaction to further study the present and future developments of home care services and facilities through factor analysis, and give recommendations accordingly.We find that:(1) the older, the lower living satisfaction;(2) housing with well lighting and enough sound-proofing, or conveniently accessible to hospital is more favored by the elderly residents;(3)residential environment and property management will affect the senior living satisfaction positively;(4)senior living satisfaction shall be influenced by the satisfaction of home care facility significantly;(5)There are some differences in the demand for home care facilites and services among the elderly of different ages;(6)The satisfaction of home care facility is of significant differences in the elderly of different ages or with different levels of income;(7)The factors affect the satisfaction of home care facility can be summarized as leisure entertainment, health-care and assisted living facilities, and the leisure entertainment facilities and health-care facilities are of relatively higher importance.The results suggest that it is of great significance to promote leisure entertainment and health-care facilities in response to the desire of the seniors to age in place, then optimize the development of assisted living facilities. And the increase cooperation between the community and the social parties(such as hospital, school) are suggested. Also, the property need to play a critical role in community in an effort to service seniors’ living. Besides, to improve the environment of community neighborhood. Further, it is important to have a supervision and feedback mechanisms while the senior facilities are being used. Last, proper reconstruction of senior housing can be considered.
