In general, the police power is the power of the state to the police and the police to fulfill the functions of the maintenance of national security and public order, the police power is the police authority. Along with the development of economy and society, especially in the historical background of ruling the country by law and building a socialist country under the rule of law, the rule of law or the significance of the standardization construction is particularly prominent.On the one hand, as a derivative of the social development, the local social crisis has occurred, the police power is to resolve social contradictions, and to deal with the social crisis. But on the other hand, the rapid development of modern society also put forward higher and more requirements for police power.On the one hand, as a service to the society and to safeguard citizens’legal rights and interests of the most direct force, "difficult to find the police, the police is still to solve the vital interests of the people and the real interests of the most important force, but on the other hand, along with the changes in the pattern of social interests, social conflicts and frequent violence assaulting a police officer, police petition the behavior of the negative public evaluation of police is increasingly. The core issue of this paper is to discuss how to deal with the standardization of police power in the context of the rule of law, so as to realize the function of police power, to protect the national security, public order and the vital interests of the people.Firstly, this thesis analyzes the essence and function of police power, and then analyzes the reasons of the problems and puts forward suggestions on the improvement of the law and the relevant levels.
