The Research On The Sense Of Dignity Of Migrant Workers Under The Citizenship Perspective

The problem of Migrant workers’ dignity affects the stability and prosperity of society,and it is also a big problem of social reality.Currently, there exist serious questions of dignity in our country,which clearly closely related to implementation status of migrant workers’ citizenship. Existing research results, however, rarely stand in the perspective of citizenship to examine the question of dignity. Therefore, the research on civil rights under the perspective of peasant workers’ dignity problem has important theoretical significance and practical significance.This study,first of all, will analyze the existing theories to have an interpretation of the concept of dignity and citizenship, to make this research have an interpretation of dignity,sense of dignity, and the the civil rights, and to have the preliminary theoretical derivation of the relationship between them. This study regards definition of dignity as individuals avoiding insult and mainten oneself to get "value recognition and respect" and the basic rights, and dignity is the feelings about dignity. This study defines the right of citizenship a citizenship based on constitutional, Chinese citizens’ right of identity, welfare rights and political rights.This study considers dignity as the dependent variable, turning its operation into index of dignity and level of dignity;and considers citizenship implementation situation as independent variables,dividing it into identity rights, welfare rights and political rights to operate separately;and condisers generational differences, household register, identity and status hierarchy as control variables, making crosstab analysis, multiple linear regression analysis and fing that there is a positive correlation between migrant workers citizenship implementation and dignity.The better workers citizenship’s implementation, the higher dignity. Migrant workers citizenship implementation of dignity is restricted by the four control variables,and the influence of the restriction mechanism is more complicated. In addition, this study also analyzes the relationship between the dignity and policy participation intention, finding that there is positive correlation between them.Based on the above conclusions, the combining policy requirements of migrant workers, this paper puts forward the following countermeasures and Suggestions to realize citizenship of migrant workers and enhance their dignity :First,make the implementation of the fair employment policies to safeguard the rights of migrant workers equal employment and other two countermeasures rights to guarantee peasant workers’ right and improve their dignity; Second, open urban low-rent housing and public rental housing market to the migrant workers, and provide them with preferential housing subsidies for rural migrant workers and to the four policies to guarantee migrant workers’ welfare rights, and enhance their dignity; Third, insist on the judicial justice, fair treatment of migrant workers,and strengthen the construction of rural migrant workers policy participation mechanism and other five suggestions to promote citizen’s policy participation, protect peasant workers’ political, and enhance their dignity.
