How The Western Countries View Chinese Diplomacy

In the past, especially after the reform and opening up, China has been in the research efforts of the West, learning from the West, hoping to learn from their development advantages. But with the continuous development of China, the rise of Chinese component in the international arena is more and more heavy, the role of it more and more conspicuous, foreign experts and scholars who research China is increasing, and gradually formed a few large China academic powerhouse, such as the document selected by the research SO AS, University of London Institute of Contemporary China, founded in 1960, China Quarterly; by the College of Asia and the Pacific at the Australian National University, founded in 1979, The China Journal, (the period from 1979 to 1995, Title of the Australian journal of Chinese affairs); created by the University of Denver in 1992, The Journal of Contemporary China. These magazines are containing the word "China",on the study of the Chinese, are very famous and authoritative in the world, acted as a eye for foreign people to observe China, as an important reference for foreign government to make policy about China.Seriously study these three magazines, we can easily find that their research in China has been deep into all aspects, which can be divided into two major directions of internal and external, which is studied in this paper is China’s diplomacy in the direction of external. From the vertical perspective, the three magazines studied China’s diplomatic history, current situation and on China’s future foreign policy outlook; from the horizontal, diplomacy of China’s overall strategy and regional strategy were studied respectively,in regional strategy can be summarized for China-Africa relations, Sino-US relations, Sino-Latin American relations, China-EU Relations, Sino-Russian relations, China’s relations with Asian countries. In general, a wide range of foreign research abroad, focused, but the inherent Western Center on Western thinking to some extent still exists, there are many prejudices against China. Through these studies, can have certain reference significance to the research of Western ideas and policies towards China.
