This paper aims to further deepen the related study, analyze its historical and practical significance.The first part is the formation conditions of Zhang Wentian’s cadre education thoughts. It includes the exposition of Marxist classical writers about the cadre education, effect of other contemporary communist leaders, and Zhang Wentian’s own rich work experience.The second part is the development process of Zhang Wentian’s cadre education thoughts. Due to the restriction of subjective and objective factors, Zhang Wentian’s cadre education thoughts experienced four stages, which are germination, formation, maturity and development. From 1925 Zhang Wentian joined the Chinese Communist Party to 1935 Zunyi conference is the embryonic period. From 1935 to 1945 the victory of the Anti-Japanese War is the formation period. From 1945 to 1959 Mount Lu conference is the mature stage. From 1959 to 1976 is the development period.The third part is the content and characteristics of Zhang Wentian’s cadre education thoughts. In this paper, its contents are summarized in four aspects:theoretical education, mass line education, new cadres training, work style of cadres education. Its characteristics are included as "for people", "democracy", "adaptation", "times".The fourth part is the comparison of Zhang Wentian and Mao Zedong, Deng X iaoping’s thought of cadre education. In this part, this paper clarifies the relationship between them, and analyses the historical status of Zhang Wentian’s cadre education thoughts.The fifth part is the contemporary enlightenment of Zhang Wentian’s cadre education thought. Combined with the new requirements and new regulations since the eighteen conference of party, this paper puts forward three points of contemporary enlightenments.
