The Research On Francis Fukuyama Political Thought

Francis Fukuyama, as a well-known contemporary American political scientist, because he proposed "the end of history" so that he have been famous in academic circles at the end of the eighties of the 21 century, he triggered a hot scholars discussion between domestic and foreign. In the past twenty years, Fukuyama, as an academic star, he has expounded the connotation of the end of history "in various conferences and occasions, but in recent years, he has emphasized the importance of state construction and state capacity in different academic occasions. Especially in the following realistic conditions:the democratic process of later developing country suffered some setbacks, in the past two years, Fukuyama expressed a new theme: good political order must be based on the following three conditions:State Building,rule of law democratic accountability. This theme makes some scholars think Fukuyama no longer adhere to the theory of "the end of history", and another part of the scholars think that Fukuyama remains unchanged. Therefore, the author believes that it is necessary to make a comprehensive analysis of Fukuyama’s political thought so as to clarify the development of Fukuyama’s political thought and discriminate the change and unchange of Fukuyama’s political thought.This article will be carried out from the following four main aspects:At First, I will expound the process of formation and development of Fukuyama’s political thought. I will point out that the formation of Fukuyama thought has three theoretical origins:generally history of the world, thoughts of Kojeve, Europe pessimistic thoughts, the historical background of the formation of his political thought is the drastic changes in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe and the third wave democratization and Europe America economic recovery. The development of Fukuyama political thought is mainly affected by the changes of world political situationIn the Second, I will expound the main contents of Fukuyama’s political thought. Fukuyama’s political thought is divided into two parts in this paper:one is his political philosophy----the end of history, other is his political science----he theory of political order. Fukuyama political thought formation stage is "the end of history", the stage of development of Fukuyama political thought is the theory of political order. Firstly, this paper expounds the main contents of Fukuyama’s theory of the end of history. Secondly, the author explains the contents of Fukuyama’s theory of political order, mainly from the origin of the three institutional factors of political order and the balance of the three elements of political order these two aspects described. Finally, the internal connection between Fukuyama’s theory of the end of history and his theory of political order is also elaborated in this paper.The third part, This paper evaluates Fukuyama’s political thought, I mainly pointing out the two theories——Fukuyama’s theory of the end of history and his theory of political order——their own contribution and limitation. Although the core concept desire of being accepted among the Fukuyama’s theory of the end of history has a conceited and arrogant side, it is a complete new interpretation of development of political civilization; while the state establishment emphasized in Fukuyama’s theory of political order has an important practical significance as well.In the Fourth,Analysis of the modern value of fukuyama political thought and Enlightenment. I will Mainly points out China’s political system is an urgent need to solve the several major issues, such as how to strengthen the construction of regime legitimacy, the rule of law, and how to build perfect democracy.At the same time, Fukuyama’s political thought, also has a very important enlightenment significance to the country how to strengthen state capacity building.
