In the late 1980 s,American scholar Francis Fukuyama became famous for his prescient " the end of history" on the eve of the end of the Cold War following the disintegration of the Soviet Union. With the rapid advancement of the third wave of democratization, the acceleration of globalization and the general prosperity brought about by the market economy,“the end of history” theory became the mainstream thought that was generally recognized at the end of last century and was transplanted to all parts of the world by the western world as a universal achievement. With the rapid ebb of the third wave of democratization, the global financial crisis and the peaceful rise of China, the prediction that " history ends in a liberal democracy" has been overturned by the reality of historical development.Middle-aged Fukuyama timely introduced an upgraded version of “the end of history”,known as “the theory of political order” to cope with the current theoretical dilemma, proposing to construct an effective political order from the three dimensions of national construction, rule of law and democratic responsibility system.Fukuyama,as a typical western scholar, has been paying much attention to the research and commentary on the Chinese model, and has a far-reaching influence.Through comparative study of the similarities and differences between young Fukuyama's political thought and middle-aged Fukuyama's political thought, this paper analyses the core content and basic position of Fukuyama's political thought, reveals the class attribute and ideological prejudice behind his thought, which is not only the ideological security need to ensure the guiding position of Marxism, but also the need toenhance the road of self-confidence,theoretical self-confidence,institutional self-confidence and cultural self-confidence of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.Fukuyama's political thought has a dual impact on our ideological security, that is,through refuting the theoretical fallacy of Fukuyama's political thought to promote the theoretical innovation and broaden the theoretical horizon,it will help us deepen and develop our understanding of historical materialism theory and socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.By refuting the biased view of Fukuyama's political thought,we can help us to enhance the ideology thus promoting the mainstream ideological security of Marxism.of ideological struggle and firmly maintain the determination of ideological security. However, the negative impact is to challenge the truth and authority of Marxist historical materialism theory and to make it easy for Marxism to be the security issue of mainstream ideology in China.Challenging the influence and self-confidence of socialism with Chinese characteristics can easily cause the shaking of ideals and beliefs of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Therefore,we need to strengthen the study and research of the theory of historical materialism, and constantly improve our ability and level of evaluation and criticism of Fukuyama's political thought. It is necessary to construct the discourse system with Chinese characteristics so as to continuously enhance the dissemination and influence of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.We need to strengthen the Party's ideological security leadership, and constantly enhance the cooperation and synergy of various forces to prevent the ideological infiltration of Western social thoughts, including Fukuyama's political thoughts. We need to speed up the pace of building socialism with Chinese characteristics so as to respond to the various speech challenges of Fukuyama's political thoughts with more development achievements.
