"Das Capital"’s Philosophical Views On Culture And Its Contemporary Value

The depth development of the socialist market economy is gradually pulling China’s cultural transformation and change. Recently, a deepen reform in an all-round way are proposed in China, which will certainly promote a cultural change in a deeper level. In this context, our society faces the cultural conflict and integration issues, and it will highlight the theoretical study of culture as an important academic question again.An important question for the cultural analysis is the basic theoretical framework’s building. The philosophy paradigm and a text are needed to build the framework. In the philosophy level, many researchers has made certain research achievements in building a framework based on the alienation or materialism. As we all know, Marx completed the transformation phronesis in the Theses on Feuerbach. So that conception of practice is the main philosophy, and it is very necessary to construct the basic framework for analyzing cultural issues from the perspective of the conception of practice. For the text level, many researchers construct the basic analysis framework for cultural issues based on Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right, 1844 Manuscripts, Theses on Feuerbach, German Ideology, and The Communist Manifesto. After Marx established the conception of practice in the Outline on Feuerbach, German Ideology and other works, he applied it to the analysis of modern society, and it is reflected in Das Kapital. So Marx’s concept of culture could be into the real-world. Based on this conception of practice and Das Kapital, we build an analyzing framework of modern social and cultural issues. Based on the theory, we study the cultural development of China, in order to provide the theoretical support for China’s cultural development and transform.The basic conclusions are as followed: Firstly, based on Marx’s conception of practice, the culture of modern society should maintain the necessary tension between the rational dimension and the value dimension. Secondly, the commodity, currency, capital and their concrete forms enhance the level of human productive forces, but they could become a tool for wealth segmentation, which could bring the problems such as the social equity, which related to the value dimension. Therefore, there must be a cultural thinking in the development process from the perspective of tension between the rational dimension and value dimension. Thirdly, China’s comprehensive deepening reform will accelerate the rational transformation. But based on cultural philosophy of Marx, the steering is proceed in the tension between rational dimension and value dimension. Only in this way can China take the benefits brought by the development of modern society, but also avoid the development costs of modern society in the greatest extent possibility.
