The Practical Guidance Of Mainstream Ideology Construction In China

In the 2013 national conference of propaganda and ideological work, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that the ideological work is an extremely important work. In the new period, the construction of mainstream ideology in China has made some progress. Although non-mainstream ideology continues to challenge mainstream ideology construction, the influence of our mainstream ideology increases steadily. To further accelerate the pace of mainstream ideology construction and to better ensure the socialist orientation of China’s reform, development and modernization, it is necessary to analyze the problems in the process of constructing mainstream ideology through the current situation of mainstream ideology construction. Only by doing so can we better formulate a practical path for our mainstream ideology construction.The first part is the introduction. Firstly, it introduces the background and significance of the research on mainstream ideology construction. Then it reviews the current situation of the researches on Ideological Theory home and abroad. Finally, it points out the method of the research as well as the innovation and deficiencies of the thesis.The first chapter is the basic theory of mainstream ideology construction. This part mainly defines the connotation of our mainstream ideology through studying the connotation, characteristics and function of ideology, indicating that China’s mainstream ideology is the ideology of socialism, namely, the socialism ideology of Chinese characteristic. Then it combs the important expositions on ideology from Marx to Xi Jinping, showing the basic theory of Marxist ideology and its inheritance and development in China.The second chapter is the current situation of our mainstream ideology construction. This chapter consists of three parts: the history of mainstream ideology construction, existing characteristics and main problems. Although the Communist Party of China attached great importance to ideological work from its inception,Marxism as a guiding ideology of socialism is only gradually established after the founding of New China and become the mainstream ideology. Therefore, the processof mainstream ideology construction in this thesis refers to the period after the founding of New China, and it is divided into the three stages, namely, preliminary exploration, recovery and reconstruction, and comprehensively promotion.The third chapter mainly analyzes the reason why there are problems in the process of mainstream ideology construction in China. This part discusses the factors from two aspects, both internal and external. Internal factors include the impact of economic globalization, the challenges of information network and foreign cultures.External factors refer to that mainstream ideology construction lags behind with respect to economic transition and social transformation in three aspects: lack of innovation, insufficient propaganda of mainstream ideology construction and lack of effective supervision.The fourth chapter is about the practical path of our mainstream ideology construction. This part attempts to solve the problems existing in the process of mainstream ideology construction from four aspects: theoretical support, practical guidance, direction of public opinion and standard supervision. The theoretical support is based on the innovation of our ideological theory and it analyzes the essence and root cause of the erroneous ideas in depth. With regard to practical guidance, we have to give play to the leading effect of socialist core values, take advantage of the exemplary role of Party cadres, put typical models’ leading effect into full play and solve problems of the masses’ practical interests. As to the direction of public opinion, firstly this thesis proposes that we should adhere to the correct guidance of public opinion, accelerate the pace of using new media, and finally pay attention to the team members in the department of ideological construction. With respect to standard supervision, we should innovate the method by which mainstream ideology implement its supervision and management, and promote legislative process of supervision and management, thus to ensure the development of the mainstream ideology in China with high efficiency by enhancing the overall control of ideological field.
