The Case Study Of Social Work Intervened To Care About Elderly People Living Alone

With the development of our economic society,the structure of population and age is changing continuously,the problem of elderly people living alone starts to appear. As vulnerable groups, they are facing the difficulties of physical health, Source of income and unaccompanied,various factors intertwined together,it produced a certain social problems. So,this thesis concentrates on the groups of elderly people living alone.This thesis is based on case study about the care of elderly people living alone. This thesis consists of eight chapters, the chapter1 is about the background and the significance of this thesis, which tells the rapidly rising of the number of the elderly people living alone and the various difficulties these people have met in their daily life. The chapter2 respectively summarizes the researches about elderly people living alone from foreign and domestic scholars, which provides a direction of the research and practice of this thesis. The chapter3 distinguishes the definition of elderly people, elderly people living alone and the care of elderly people,and also tells about the ERG theory of Alderfer, activity theory, resilience and social support theory. The chapter4 introduces the process of building up service relationships with clients, including the prediction of the key problem and the analysis of the psychological demand, health care demand and social demand of the clients.Chapter5 expounded the purpose of the research and the long and short terms target of service. As literature analysis,interviews,participant observation and other methods to practice,according to the estimated demand,we developed ten detailed intervention plan.Chaper6 used the professional knowledge of social work,carried out special intervention service. For psychological adjustment needs,we carried out the work of bereavement counseling,broaden social interaction,animal transference and so on;for health care needs,helped clients establish health files in the community hospital, receive free physical examination regularly,invite nutritionist to develop Healthy Diet combined with the clients medical records and adjust their diet;for the social support needs,starting from the work therapy and life care,help clients achieve social integration and self-reliance.Chaper7 from the degree of target completion evaluating intervention,reached a closed primary consensus with the clients. Chapter8 summarized the social work intervention methods in the field of services for the elderly living alone.Through cases intervened,the life quality and mentation of clients have been effectively improved,not only they get full and rich life,See their worth,but also they improve health awareness,pay attention to quality of life,rebuild the meaning of life and a sense of belonging.
