This paper take the video of Nadal’s semifinals and finals in2011French Openas material, with the method of literature review, interviews, video watching andmathematical statistics, to analysis Nadal’s tactical features in different stages andsituations of these two matches. Aiming at providing reference of tactical trainingfor Chinese Men’s professional tennis players by revealing Nadal’s tactical ideasand accepting the good and rejecting the bad through the research. The result provesthat:I. The characteristics of tactic in different competition stagesThe active change of tactic, the accurate grasp of timing and the focused use oftactic form the tactical effect, which is the combination of the strict contact point andstrong spin, powerful, stable and cunning placement.II. The characteristics of tactic in different competition situationsAccurately judge the competition situations, and timely take scientific and rationaltactics, then use different spin, placement, shots and situations control the competitiontempo to get the scoring chance.Ⅲ. The characteristics of key points’tacticKeep mental calm and rational use of tactic. And it is well-directed that the choiceof situations, placement, shots and technique in the different key points.Ⅳ. The overall tactical characteristicsThe tactical executive ability and pertinence is strong. In most cases the changes ofspin, placement and types of stroke are used to limit the rival’s attack and control thecompetition tempo, and once the chances arise then rapidly accelerate the competitiontempo to get the score by more aggressive types of stroke, the placement which iseasier to handle the rival and repeated attacks.
