The ordinary high school new curriculum took the lead in four provinces,autonomous Guangdong, Shandong, Hainan and Ningxia in the fall in2004,then it wascarried out through out the whole country orderly. Approved by the ministry ofeducation, Gansu province has fully implemented the new curriculum experiment inhigh school since the fall of2010, and until June2013, the first round of the newcurriculum experiment in Gansu just ended. Since the implementation of the newcurriculum for three years, what is the current situation of the implementation of newcurriculum in GannanTibetan area, located in the northwest minority region? And whatthe progress it has made In the process of the implementation? What are the currentproblems existing in the implementation of the new curriculum. The thesis made aseries of surveys of high school mathematics teachers in part of middle sc hools ofGannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, from which the author got more realunderstanding of the current situation of the implementation of the new curriculum inGannan Tibetan. After the survey the author also learned the stage achievements it gotin the process of the implementation of the new curriculum, and he learned the morewidespread problems more detailed existing in new mathematics curriculum of highschool in GannanTibetan Prefecture, which provides some real first-hand informationand the factual basis for the new mathematics curriculum reform educationpolicy-making departments.The research was based on surveys of four minority ethnic middle schools fromHezuo city, Xiahe County, Maqu County in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture inGansu, and another ordinary middle school in Xiahe County, the author took some ofthese five high schools’ math teachers as a sample, using questionnaires, interviews,observation, literature and other research methods to conduct a thorough investigation.The research content involves such aspects as the acknowledge of the teachers’ for thenew curriculum, the development and utilization of the new curriculum resources byteachers, it also covered the degree of teachers’ understanding of the new teachingmaterial, teachers’ adaptability to the new curriculum, teachers’ professional development and teaching methods, their use of technology in information as well asthe practical problems teachers encounter in the process of the implementation of newcurriculum, etc. On the base of the analysis of the results of the survey, the authorsummarized the outstanding problems existing in the new curriculum reform in GannanTibetan area and put forward some suggestions for further perfection of the newcurriculum reform in Gannan Tibetan area: To strengthen teachers’’ learning of thecurriculum standard, to update their teaching idea; To increase government fundsinvestment and expense in education according to the reality; to strengthen thedevelopment and construction of the math teaching resources in Tibetan high schools;To strengthen the construction of teaching staff, the introduction of excellent bilingualteachers; To Improve the teachers’ training system and enhance the pertinence andeffectiveness of teachers’ training; To strengthen the construction of remote educationand construct the network platform of the bilingual teaching resources.
