Formative Evaluation is also called process evaluation, proposed originally by Americaneducationalist and psychologist Screven (G. F. Scriven), which is to point to in the process ofteaching activities to make learning more effective and adjust the teaching activities of their ownevaluation. It focuses on real-time information on students’ attitude in the learning process, interests,etc. By adjusting the feedback information timely and effective control of each stage of teaching,making teaching and learning can stride forward towards the established goal, so in the newcurriculum reform has been strongly advocated.Homework is an important link of teaching process.Through homework, can not only check the effect of classroom teaching, to enhance the students’understanding and using of the knowledge, but also can cultivate students’ innovation ability. Theoperation effect can reach goals,related to the improvement of teaching quality. However, todayscientific homework status of junior high school students is still not optimistic. Faced with thissituation, the paper under the guidance of theory of formative assessment, try to optimize the juniormiddle school science homework design, according to the teaching goal on the topic assignmentsand homework are selected and compiled,design a variety of forms, rich homework questions,make the operation more targeted, typicality, demonstration, easing the burden on students’ work,improve the effectiveness of homework, make the homework really play the role of promotingteaching.This paper is divided into six chaptersThe first chapter mainly elaborates the purpose and significance of the research, the methods andideas of research etc.The second chapter summarized the related research topics. Firstly, defines the relevant coreconcepts, then combined with the analysis of the teaching function of scientific homework,through a review and comment of formative evaluation theory and homework designliterature,puts forward the author’s thinking about the present situation of science homework,which assumes that the necessity of formative assessment homework design.The third chapter is the theoretical base of this research, provides the theory basis for theoperation design.Fourth chapter discusses science homework design strategies. In guidance of the formativeevaluation theory, the science homework design strategies are discussed. The fifth chapter analyzes science homework design case and effect.The sixth chapter draws conclusions about science homework design strategies and summarizesthe shortcomings and further research in the future.
